I once read, "If you want to take better pictures, go to more interesting places". Well, I already travel to places that few other people have had the opportunity to see and/or explore.
This includes travel, and working in one of the most remote areas of Canada along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
If anything, I see too many interesting things that I'm unable to capture as I operate helicopters. Almost all aircraft images are on the ground for flight safety reasons. Anything captured while airborne are as the non-flying pilot in a non-critical phase of flight.

I always liked still images, and when I was young my grandparents bought me a Kodak Instamatic X-15 for Christmas. That camera was well used and abused until eventually I grew away from photography.
My interest was renewed with the development of digital imaging technologies in the early 2000's. Except now, I had an eye developed through life experience and patience.
I'm not a professional, that would be an insult to the people that study and invest in the industry as a career. I'm just an amateur picture-taker and I get lucky once in a while.
